Byzantine Cross
The Byzantine cross style is often thought in synonymous terms with "Orthodox". This is true in the broadest of terms, with the later fitting into the former's distinctive art form of highly stylized figures, large dark piercing eyes, liberal use of gold leafing, and especially the cross itself with a shorter beam just above and horizontal to the beam with Christ's arms and the short diagonal cross beam at the feet. There are however distinct, often subtle differences within the Byzantine style depending on the country of origin. Greece and Russian art-work are perhaps the best known homes for what we today call Byzantine. It is in the studying of icons that one is best able to see these differences.

10 Inch Byzantine Cross
Imported from Greece, this cross is worked in wood and measures 10 1/2 inches tall. This is a very solid piece with suberb craftsmanship. In visiting an Orthodox Church or home, this is typical of the size style, and quality you would encounter.

7 Inch Byzantine Cross
Imported from Greece as well, this cross measures 7 inches tall and is similar to the cross above though not as ornate. It is another classic example of the Byzantine style still in wide use and demand today in many Orthodox countries.

Premium 17 inch San Damiano Cross
Imported from Italy, this is a premium quality San Damiano cross. It measures 17 inches tall, 12 1/2 inches wide, and is just over an inch thick.
